environmental suffering

This statistic shows that the global emmissions of carbon dioxide is increasing exponentially over the years. This is caused mainly by the combustion of petroluem the fuel in cars as people become more affluent and better able to afford a car. It is no longer a luxury item due to the invention of assembly lines which led to mass production at a lower cost. The rapid rate at which carbon dioxide is being produced has led many countries to take steps. In Mexico, there are car-free days where no cars are allowed on the road. In Beijing, China, officials are introducing a similar car ban, during the test period, odd numbered cars will be banned on Saturday and Monday while even numbered cars on Friday and Sunday. Countries are participating in all kinds of green movements but according to the graph, it is not helping very much. More needs to be done to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and prevent global warming. Therefore I feel that everybody should play their part to conserve what is left of Earth's resources. We should use energy saving bulbs in lights and swtich them off when not in use. Use the fan instead of the air-conditioner but if one must use the air conditioner, do not set the temperature too low, keep it around 24 degrees celsius. We should also save and recycle paper as paper is aquired from trees which help to reduce carbon dioxide. If the demand for paper decreases, the number of trees cut will also decrease. We can also buy products with the green label on them to show our support for environmental conservation. If everybody follows these simple rules, we can reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
